PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

 Professional Organizations-are assemblages of


professionals within a particular specialization or
professional field that come together for the purpose of
collaboration, networking and professional development or
advancement.
Officers and members oserve to promote the particular
professional field they are part of, educate the public on the
issues relevant to the industry.
Also provide opportunities for professional growth and
continuing education by offering workshops, trainings and
seminar and by research journals.
Professional Organizations

 In the philippines, membership to an accredited


professional organization (APO) or accredited integrated
professional organization (AIPO) is a requirement for
hiring, retention and sometimes for the renewal of licenses.
 APO/AIPO-is a professional society duly accredited by the
Professional Regulation Commision (PRC) and the
respective Professional Regulatory Board (PRB).

1. Accrediting Organization- accredit curricular


programs in educational institutions.
Examples:
Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools,
Colleges and Universities(PAASCU)

2. Credentialing/Certifying Organizations- provide


certification examination for professionals.
Example/s:

the continued development of specific group of professionals.

philippines.

• Organized on September 15,1963 by Mr. Crisanto G. Almario (Father of


PAMET) at the Public Health Laboratory in Quiricada St. Sta Cruz, Manila

• September 20, 1964- first convention and election of officers at FEU

• Charlemagne Tamondong- first PAMET President

• October 14, 1969- SEC registration, Reg No. 39570, Nardito Moraleta

• June 21, 1969- RA 5527 ( Philippine Medical Technology Act) became a law

• June 22 1973- approval of PD 223 creating PRC

May 13, 1970- Director Narciso Albarraccin – appointed Dr. Serafin


Juliano(FEU)And Dr. Gustavo Reyes(UST)

June 22, 1970- first organizational meeting in UST

 The Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students (PHISMETS) is


the national organization of all medical technology/medical laboratory
science students under the supervision of PASMETH.
 2002-first organized during the leadership of former PASMETH
president , Dr. Zenaida C. Cajucom
 First advisers: Prof. Marilyn Bala (CHS)
 Prof. Nova Aida Cajucom (FEU-NRMF)

 November 25, 2006- reorganized and headed by Dir. Magdalena
Natividad and Dean Bernard Ebuen
 February 24, 2009- First student congress (OLFU- Valenzuela)
 May 13, 2010- first PHISMETS Leadership Seminar (ATI-CAR Benguet
State University -La Trinidad Benguet)
