Present Condition
• Precast and prestressed concrete is
increasing in demand for the industrial
sector both in Saudi Arabia and UAE
• Prestressed concrete has evolved as the
building material and solution of choice
for residential, commercial, government
and industrial building construction.
• Post tensioning has been around since
1940s and is now widely recognized in
the region, particularly Dubai.
• Construction companies in Middle East
start to gain experience in the design,
manufacture and erection of industrial
projects involving precast and
prestressed concrete.

• Concrete Technology LLC Established in 1996 based in
the Emirate of Dubai, a leading specialist in the field of
architectural and structural precast and pre-stressed
concrete construction.
• ConcreteTechnology was able to construct numbers of
projects which became landmarks in the emirates of
Dubai and Sharjah. Concretec succeed to create its own
system which was used in a wide range of prestigious
projects such as Dubai Marina Phase I & II, Jumeirah
Beach Residence, AI-Ferdan Towers, The Meadows
villas.. ...etc.
• Concrete Technology's system was made of rigid extruded
polystyrene insulated covered by two layers of concrete
and provided with vapor barrier. To assure the integrity of
the composite section stainless steel connecting members
are provided to maintain the section dimensions and
properties the same. Number and spacing between the
steel connecting members will be decided according to the
panel configuration.
Insulated Precast Concrete Wall Panel

• Sometimes referred to as “sandwich” wall panels

• A precast concrete wall panel with two layers of
concrete separated by a layer of rigid insulation.

STUP PROJECTS
Examples of Structure
Capital Gate- Abu Dhabi
• The construction lasted for almost 4
years
• 490 piles have been drilled 100 feet
underground
• Built using climbing formwork
• Use vertical post tensioning to add
axial compression
to overcome tension stresses and
was constructed
with a vertical pre camber to reduce
deflection under
load
• "Farthest manmade leaning building"
Dubai Mall
• 3rd largest mall in the world by total area
• Having a 600,000 m2 of post-tensioned slab
to make the concrete slab and foundation much
stronger than concrete without reinforcement
by this tension
• The various systems include lightweight precast
panels, tensioned fabric, aluminum curtain walls,
canopies, stainless steel trusses, vertical
bi-folding steel and glass doors
Ocean Heights 2 (Dubai, UAE)
• Column and Shear Walls are
reinforced concrete.
• The stability of the tower is
further enhanced by the
outrigger effects of typical
thickened corridor slabs that
connect the outer walls and the
main central core walls of the
building.
• CCL designed and supplied
post-tensioned slabs on this 85
storey tower.
Bahrain Causeway (Saudi Arabia)

• The causeway involved the

installation of over 500 pre-
stressed concrete cylinder piles
beneath and along the causeway.

• The piles are 3.5m in diameter

and have been installed and
grouted into drilled sockets.

• In order to suit the geotechnical

conditions, the length of the piles
was changed from bent to bent.
The Residences (Dubai, UAE)
• The tower structures are
outrigger-stiffened cores that are
jump formed ahead of the post-
tensioned concrete floors.
• The podiums makes extensive
use of prestressed, precast
flooring that is composite with
prestressed band beams. It has a
precast concrete façade panels
and curtain walls.
• The foundations consist of raft
supported on bored reinforced
concrete piles.
