Summary
Maternal and child care is one of the governments major
concerns when it comes to health.
The commitment of the government to use information
systems is evident in the AHA and PHA.
Government units are highly encouraged to use information
systems for data collection and reporting purposes
In order to realize the aims of the AHA and PHA, the use of
information systems to collect data and reporting purposes is
critical to determine areas that needs immediate attention.

Recommendations
The following are the recommendations of the researchers/proponents:
1. The BMCHIS should be introduced and installed to other barangays for adoption
and implementation. This is to increase the number of barangays that can benefit
from the system.
2. The BMCHIS can be enhanced to include a list of health care providers or
Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and health facilities with their contact
information for an easier access in case of emergency.
3. The BMCHIS can be improved to include a function that will record referrals for
monitoring purposes.
4. The BMCHIS can also include a function where list of available
medicines/vaccinations in stock at the BHC for the mother and child client can
easily be searched and recorded.
5. Additional items for profiling, such as occupation of spouse, source of income,
contact number, 4Ps grantee and other relevant information that will be required
by the DOH LGU and/or MHO should be included in the BMCHIS for an improved
profiling function.
6. Although records are already secured in the system because of the login and user
management functions, a restore function should also be included.
