LAB OVERVIEW
In this lab, you will choose to walk 1 of 3 different scenarios
to address different Database Backup Challenges within
customer environments.

• This lab demonstrates how the EMC Data Protection Suite

provides customers with flexibility in deployment options to
satisfy their varying client use case requirements for
complete database protection.

Choose your own database backup adventure from the

following:

• Lab 1: Microsoft SQL Server Always-On Availability Group

Backup and Recovery using EMC NetWorker

• Lab 2: Oracle Recovery Manager Backup and Recovery

using EMC Data Domain Boost for Enterprise Applications

• Lab 3: SAP HANA Backup and Recovery using EMC Data

Domain Boost for Enterprise Applications

 LAB OUTCOME
Lab 1: Microsoft SQL Server Always-On Availability Group Backup and Recovery using EMC NetWorker

• Explore and Review Always-On Availability Group Backup Settings and Policies in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and
NetWorker Management Console

• Execute NetWorker's Config Checker for validation and review of SQL Backup Policy settings.

• Execute Backup and Recovery of SQL Database from Passive AoAG Member leveraging the Preferred Server Order List mechanism
via SSMS.

Lab 2: Oracle Recovery Manager Backup and Recovery using EMC Data Domain Boost for Enterprise
Applications

• Review Oracle Configuration and RMAN/Fast Recovery Area Backup Settings via Oracle Enterprise Manager

• Configure DDBoost Storage Unit on Data Domain system and Review/Configure RMAN Settings

• Execute backup of database, perform recovery of datafile, validate database back online.

Lab 3: SAP HANA Backup and Recovery using EMC Data Domain Boost for Enterprise Applications

• Review SAP HANA and BACKINT Configuration via SAP HANA Studio

• Execute a SAP HANA backup via the BACKINT HANA Configuration Wizard

• Recover SAP HANA database using the HANA "Recover System..." Wizard

• Execute a SAP HANA backup via the HDBSQL command outside of HANA Studio
