Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), ESTD 2001

• The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) was formed by the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) in 2001.
• IGBC certifies the green projects which are conceptualized, designed, constructed and
operated as per IGBC Ratings.

It’s achievements:
• Till date, more than 4794 projects (approx 6.33 billion sq ft) have been rated by IGBC.
• It’s savings extent of up to :
1. 15,000 MWh of Energy per million sq ft. per annum
2. 45,000 KL of Water per million sq ft. per annum
3. Installation of 30 MW of Renewable Energy in IGBC certified projects
4. Reduced CO2 emissions by 12,000 tons per million sq ft. per annum
5. Diverted 500 Tons of construction waste from landfill per million sq ft

INDIA ONE
• India Tower was once under construction but the project is now put 'on hold'. It was a 126 storey , 718 metre
skyscraper in Mumbai. When completed, it would be the 2nd tallest man made structure ever made. The project
is supposed to start again soon with the height of building decreased to nearly 450m due to various reasons.
