ABSTRACT
• In the country, the problem of “Fraud Currency” is in acute situation
and people want easier way to deal with it.
• As, there are number of android mobile phone users in the country
and increases per day, to provide an android application regarding
fake currency detection is a good idea.
• By using it, anyone can easily detect fraud currency using their
android mobile cell.
INTRODUCTION
• The Indian Currency Recognition based on First Line Inspection

method& Second Line Inspection Method (Image Processing).

• First Line Inspection Method contains security features like Water mark,

Latent Image, Micro Letters, Register, I. D. Mark, Security Thread,

Intaglio Printing and Number Panel.

LITERATURE SURVEY
• Li Liu et al., introduce a new approach to detect fake coins using their
images.
• Ying Li Tian, describes an Effective Component-based Banknote
Recognition for the Blind.
• Mirza and Nanda describe an automated paper currency recognition
system which can be a very good utility in banking systems and other
field of commerce.
• Every currency note has its denomination engraved at the top right end
which is sensitive to touch, but this mark fades away after the currency
note goes in circulation for some time. This impaired people to correctly
determine the denomination of the currency note.
ANALYSIS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

• An Android Based Currency Recognition System for Blind people .

• Detect fake coins using their images.

• An Effective Component-based Banknote Recognition for the Blind.

• An automated paper currency recognition system which can be a

very good utility in banking systems and other field of commerce.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Counterfeit notes are one of the most biggest problem occurring in cash
transactions. For country like India, it is become big hurdle. Because of
the advances in printing, scanning technologies it is easily possible for a
person to print fake notes with use of latest hardware tools.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• In the proposed work, we will develop an Application to detect
fraud currency for Indian Notes.
• First take the input of the given image and preprocessed the given
image and convert the RGB image into the gray scale image.
• After preprocessing, extract all the features of currency(using
Image pre-processing, gray scale conversion Edge detection,
Image processing).
STEPS IN PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed system consists of mainly three processing steps:
1. Image segmentation based on image intensity values (Discontinuity,
Similarity).
2. Feature extraction, involving a general attributes which include color,
texture and shape.
3. Extracted features investigation by using admin data for decision
making about currency (either original or fake).
CONCLUSION
The main motivation behind the development of this
application is to provide a better way for people to detect fraud
in currency notes using an easily available device.
