INTRODUCTION
Concept of six stroke engine was developed in mid 20th
century when pollution due to conventional IC engine
increased.
The six stroke engine “using WATER” was developed by
Brush crower in 2006 and he patented his product at the
end of 2007.
Six stroke engine is a internal combustion engine, but it
has additional 2 stroke which make it more efficient.
2
WORKING PRINCIPLE
It consist of following six stroke namely:
1. Suction stroke
2. Compression stroke
3. Power stroke
4. Exhaust stroke
5. Secondary power stroke(Water injection stroke)
6. Secondary exhaust stroke
3
ENGINE MODIFICTIONS
1. FUEL TANK
The 360° of the cam has divided into 60° among six
stroke.
The exhaust cam has two lobes to open the exhaust
valve at fourth stroke and sixth stroke.

4.WATER INJECTOR
WORKING
1.FIRST STROKE
During the first sroke the inlet valve opens
and air-fuel mixture is sucked into cylinder
through inlet manifold.
Piston moves from BDC to TDC.

3.THIRD STROKE
During third stroke,where both valves.
remain closed.
The air-fuel mixture is ignited and burnt.
Then pressure inside the cylinder increases
rapidily and it pushes the piston down.
Piston moves BDC to TDC.

4.FOURTH STROKE
During fourth stroke ,the exhaust valve open to
and to remove the burned gases from the engine
engi cylinder.
Piston moves from TDC to BDC.

5.FIFTH STROKE
During fifth stroke, both valves are closed.
At the end of an exhaust stroke, the cylinder
temperature increases.
Then water is injected by an injector in the
form of fine droplets.
The entire water becomes steam when it
contact with the superheated cylinder.
This super heated steam pushes the piston
downward.
Piston moves from BDC to TDC. SECONDARY POWER

6.SIXTH STROKE
In sixth stroke, the exhaust valve is open.
The water injected in to the cylinder is
removed to the atmosphere through
exhaust valve.
That is piston moves from BDC to TDC.
DISADVANTAGES
Early engine starting problem.
Running problems in cold region.
Requirement of nuetral water .
Engine size increases due to additional component.
Higher manufacturing costs.
