What is Nano?
Nano- A prefix.

Extremely small.
In the names of units of measure-
one billionth.
Nano meter scale-one billionth of a
meter.
What is Nanometer?
A Nanometer is a unit of length in
the metric system, equal to one
billionth of a meter.
What is Technology?

Technology-The branch of knowledge that

deals with creation the fields of:
 Engineering.
 Industrial arts.
 Applied science.
 Pure science.
Now What is Nano technology?
 The engineering of functional systems at
a molecular scale.
 The manipulation of the structure of
matter at the molecular level.
 The “bottom up” approach of building
materials from a nano meter scale using
techniques and tools being developed
today to make complete, highly advanced
technology.
 Basically mean small technology.
What is the definition of the Nano
Technology?

Ans- The branch of technology that

deals with dimensions and
tolerances of less than 100 nano
meters, especially the
manipulation of individual atoms
and molecules.
NANO

Who invented and
discovered Nano
Technology?

Ans- Physicist Philips Richard

Nano Technology but also he is
the father of the Nano Technology.

When Richard Feynman invented

and discovered Nano
Technology?

Technology was invented and
discovered.
Physicist Philips
Richard Feynman.
HISTORY
 The first ever
concept was
presented in 1959
by the famous
professor of
physics Dr.
Richard P.
Feynman.
 Invention of the

microscope in
1981 and the
discovery of
fullerene (C60) in
1985 lead to the
emergence of
Nano Technology.

been coined by
 The early 2000s
also saw the
beginnings of
commercial
applications of
Nano Technology,
although these
were limited to
bulk application
of Nano materials.
 Silver Nano

textiles.
Moore’s Law
 1965: Intel co-founder Gordon Moore described
in Electronics magazine several trends he foresaw
in the field of electronics. One trend now known
as “Moore’s Law,” described the density of
transistors on an integrated chip (IC) doubling
every 12 months (later amended to every 2
years). Moore also saw chip sizes and costs
shrinking with their growing functionality—with
a transformational effect on the ways people live
and work. That the basic trend Moore envisioned
has continued for 50 years is to a large extent due
to the semiconductor industry’s increasing
reliance on nanotechnology as ICs and transistors
have approached atomic dimensions.
 1974: Tokyo Science University Professor Norio
Taniguchi coined the term nanotechnology to
describe precision machining of materials to
within atomic-scale dimensional tolerances.
Moore's first public graph showing
his vision of the semiconductor
industry being able to "cram more
components onto integrated circuits”

4) Functions as a ph (a
measure of acidity
sensor).
5) Nano machines are
devices built from
individual atoms.
6) Some researchers
believe that nano

be able to enter living
cells to fight disease.
Nano Technology in Fabrics

1) The properties of
familiar materials are
being changed by
manufactures who are
conventional materials to
improve performance.
2) For example, some
clothing manufacturers
are making water and
stain repellent clothing
using nano sized
whiskers in the fabric
that cause water to bead
up on the surface.
3) In manufacturing bullet
proof jackets.
4) Making spill and dirt
resistant, antimicrobial,
antibacterial fabrics.
Nano Technology in Mobile
1) Morph, a nano technology
concept device developed
by Nokia Research Center
(NRC) and the University
Cambridge (UK).
2) The Morph will be super
hydrophobic making it
extremely dirt repellent.
3) It will be able to charge
itself from available light
sources using
photovoltaic nano wire
grass covering it’s
surface.
4) Nano scale electronics
also allow stretching.
Nokia envisage that a
nano scale mesh of fibers
will allow our mobile
devices to be bent,
stretched and folded into
any number of
conceivable shapes.
Nano Technology in
Electronics
1) Electrodes made
from nano wires
enable flat panel

3) The transistors are
made of nano
wires, that are
assembled on glass
or thin films of
flexible plastic.
4) E-paper, displays

Nano Technology in
Computers
1) The silicon transistors in
your computer may be
replaced by transistors

at the nano scale, often
involving dimensions that
are just tiny fractions of
the width of a human hair.

CONCLUSION
As a conclusion to this topic I would like to say that
Nano Technology is a brand new technology
that has just began, it is a revolutionary science
that will change all what we knew before. The
future that we were watching just in science
fiction movies will in the near future be real.
This new technology will first of all, keep us
healthy because of nano robots that will repair
every damage that we have in our body.
Secondly it will give scientists the ability to
manipulate the combination of atoms in an
object and to turn it into a lighter, stronger and
more durable object than before, just by using
carbon nano tubes that are known to be a
hundred times stronger than steel and in addition
to that they are very flexible. Thirdly, Nano
Technology will give us an abundant energy
because it will transform energy more
effectively.
