O Plagiarism occurs when other’s work


such as print material, images, audio-
visual creations, computer programs,
electronic materials, etc. are used
without appropriate acknowledgement.
Student Attendance
O All Staff and Students should be familiar with this Policy

O Student's attendance is monitored, both electronic and
paper based. The lecturer uses the CIMS System to input
the daily absences of students.
O The 1st warning shall be served to a student through
email and/or SMS as a reminder to improve his/her
attendance.
O Absences accumulating 20% and 30% shall result in a 2nd
and 3rd warning that may put the student at risk to be
removed from the program.
Health & Safety
O All Staff and Students should be familiar with this Policy

O Anyone who becomes aware of a health or safety hazard must
report it immediately to the Departmental Safety Officer
O All accidents, near misses, injuries, work related illness (including
problems relating to the use of display screen equipment) should
be reported.
O First Aid boxes are located in various locations within the
Computer Laboratory.
O In cases of serious accident, injury or illness at campus, get help
without delay.
O Please consult the Departmental Safety Officer or a member of the
Safety Committee in the first instance.
O Fire alarm/Evacuation Procedure: The sound of the fire alarm

may be a bell which is loud and continuous, the alarm is


accompanied by spoken instructions.

O On hearing the alarm leave the building by the nearest available

exit. DO NOT use lifts.

O Fire alarm call points are red 'Break Glass' boxes and are located

on exit routes from the department and elsewhere. Wherever you


may be working know all your means of escape and where the
nearest fire alarm call points and extinguishers are.

O In order to provide risk free working and learning environment, we
need to maintain our institution free from any kind of hazard.
O If you observe any of the following issues mentioned below,
please report it to Risk Management Officer.
O Water leakage
O Broken electrical sockets
O Dangling electrical cables
O Electric failures causes computers breakdown and affects the
learning processes
O Teaching Aids not working in labs- computers,
projector
O Computer virus affecting the lab computers
O Students fall in a faint in the classroom/lab
O Any other issue that you observed in department
which you think unusual, should be reported.
