CRITERIA 1
WHY ARE WE EDUCATING?
•Besides conducting research and community service,
educating is one of Universitas Airlangga’s mission.
Education is essential as in general, the level of education
in Indonesia is relatively low. To that aim, we strive to
attract potential students across the nation.

•Represented in our vision, we also strive to be an excellent


education institution with international reputation. Thus, we
do believe that we must provide quality educational
program that is enable us to create excellent graduates
with international track records.
WHAT IS THE EDUCATIONAL
PHILOSOPHY BEHIND THE
PROGRAMME?
• As a developing country, Indonesia experiences relatively high economy growth. We do believe
that this high growth will be sustained if Indonesia could take advantage through the employment
of knowledge and technology in the economy. Consequently, knowledge-based economy will
require quality human resource. On this ground, higher education becomes a necessary
condition in creating quality resources. As a logical consequences of high economy growth,
economic activities also increases, especially business sector. This situation creates several
challenges for Indonesia. With the challenge of open market and integrated economy, it creates
high level competition in job market, people need to equip themselves with skills and knowledge.
Furthermore, in business sector, such competition also requires organisations to have quality
and professional managers that will help them surviving the market. Yet, we also believe that
surviving the competition and harsh market situation should be done responsibly, which means
that we need not only professional and qualified managers but also managers with good morality
and integrity to their works, environment and society. behaviour guided with morality. Based on
these three challenges, we build our study program to become a relevant part in answering the
need for creating excellent managers with high value of morality and professionalism.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED
LEARNING OUTCOMES?
• 1. Analis Manajemen (Management Analyst)

• 1.1. Mampu menjelaskan teori-teori dan konsep-konsep penting dalam disiplin ilmu manajemen dan bisnis

• 1.2. Mampu melakukan eksplorasi isu-isu dalam bidang kajian manajemen pemasaran, operasi dan rantai
pasok dan logistik, keuangan, sumberdaya manusia

• 1.3. Mampu mengidentifikasi permasalahan; mengumpulkan, mengolah dan menganalisis data; melakukan
pembahasan yang relevan dengan hasil analisis data; meringkas hasil pembahasan dan menyimpulkan hasil
penelitian dan memberikan saran-saran yang terkait dengan hasil pembahasan dan manfaat penelitian
dalam sebuah proses penelitian

• 1.4. Mampu memperbandingkan dan mengkritisi alternative-alternatif dalam pendekatan-pendekatan, baik


pendekatan-pendekatan dalam pengambilan keputusan, pemecahan masalah, maupun pendekatan dalam
penelitian.

• 1.5. Mampu memberikan konsultasi dan mendampingi organisasi/perusahaan yang membutuhkan


pendampingan dalam penganalisisan, pemformulasian, pengimplementasian, pengevaluasian, dan usulan
perbaikan pada organisasi / perusahaan yang membutuhkan jasanya.

• 2. Manajer Tingkat Pertama (Frst-Line Manager)

• 2.1. Mampu merancang dan menyelenggarakan tugas-tugas manajerial dalam


manajemen fungsional perusahaan (Pemasaran, Operasi dan rantai pasok,
Sumber Daya Manusia, Keuangan) pada suatu organisasi bisnis dan non bisnis

• 2.2. Mampu mengidentifikasi lingkungan internal dan eksternal yang dinamis


dengan mengunakan pendekatan yang tepat

• 2.3. Mampu mengambil keputusan yang tepat melalui tahap-tahap proses


pengambilan keputusan secara benar dan memberikan argumentasi tentang
hasil keputusan yang dipilih

• 2.4. Mampu mengimplementasikan dan mengevaluasi keputusan-keputusan


yang terpilih dari hasil pengambilan keputusan yang dilakukan dengan benar.

• 3. Wirausahawan (Entrepreneur)

• 3.1. Mampu menciptakan dan merancang produk-


produk baru secara mandiri

• 3.2. Mampu menyusun perencanaan dan


pengembangan bisnis

• 3.3. Mampu membangun sebuah bisnis baru


secara mandiri.
HOW ARE THE LEARNING
OUTCOMES FORMULATED?
• Learning outcomes are designed through some mechanisms:

• Discussion with external stakeholders, especially the users of graduates. The discussion
explores users’ expectation on the graduates of management study programs based on their
experiences in employing existing graduates.

• Discussion with internal stakeholders, which in this case are lecturers and also current
students on what knowledge or subject-matter issues and skills that need to be further
developed.

• Conducting benchmark to 2 main sources, which are Indonesian national qualification


framework (KKNI) and general business and management benchmark statement, quality
assurance agency (QAA), UK.

• Through these mechanisms, the study program expects to be able to not only fulfil expectation of
labor market but also aim high to fit with international standards of management education and
help our graduates to compete both nationally and internationally.

REFLECT DEPARTMENT’S
GOALS?
• Our study program is a part of the Department of
Management, and we strive to reflect the department’s
goals in our learning outcomes as shown in the figure
below.

• DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT’S VISION: ‘Menjadi


program studi unggulan dalam pengembangan
pengetahuan dan ketrampilan di bidang manajemen dan
bisnis yang termasuk 10 besar di kawasan Asia Tenggara’

• Knowledge development dalam visi dicerminkan dalam PO and LO yang terkait dengan
“mampu menguasai konsep teoritis bidang manajemen dan bisnis secara umum, dan konsep
teoritis bagian khusus dalam bidang pengetahuan tersebut secara mendalam, dan mampu
memformulasikan penyelesaian masalah prosedural”

• Skill enhancement dalam visi dicerminkan dalam PO and LO pada 2 area yaitu hard skill dan
soft skill. Pada ranah hard skill terdapat PO dan LO sebagai berikut: “mampu mengambil
keputusan yang tepat berdasarkan analisis informasi dan data, dan mampu memberikan
petunjuk dalam memilih berbagai alternatif solusi secara mandiri dan berkelompok.
Sedangkan ranah softskill diperlihatkan oleh PO dan LO sebagai berikut: “mampu
mempertanggungjawabkan pekerjaan sendiri dan dapat diberi tanggungjawab atas
pencapaian hasil kerja organisasi”.

mengaplikasikan bidang keahliannya dan memanfaatkan IPTEKS pada bidang manajemen

examples..gpa, english…etc. However our
department continuously communicate with
stakeholders to obtain information regarding
skill and knowledge that required to meet

TRY TO TUNE THE PROGRAMME TO
THE LABOUR MARKET?
• We evaluate course content every semester,
based on stakeholder feedback and inputs

• We involve stakeholders, including external


stakeholders such as users, in teaching/learning
process. An example of this is the involvement
of SOSRO in mentoring students of Small
Business Management Course
IS THERE A WELL-DEFINED

MADE KNOWN TO STAFF AND
STUDENTS?
• All staff involved in developing PO, LO and curriculum structures

• All staff has access to syllabi, GBPP, SAP so staff which gives
advantage to the staff not only as a standard of achievement but
also as a guidance for implementation that they need to reflect on
their teaching learning activities

• Similarly, students also have similar access to teaching learning


contract or syllabi and are expected to help them understand not
only what to expect from them as a students but also guide them
during T/L
