CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

• In today's generation, one of the most

experiencing activities that Senior High School
students dreamed of is work immersion.
• It aims to hone globally competitive
citizens, with its specialized curriculum, gearing
Filipino students for further studies, employment
or entrepreneurship.
• According to United States of America,
work immersions have grown 94% from 1981 to
2011. Because of this they continue to find more
benefits which not only academic but cognitive,
creative and social.
• The reason why we conduct this research is
because that we want to know if students who
acquire work immersion can really improve their
skills to help them also grow as a professional
individual.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
General Objectives

The researcher aims to identify

the Enhancement of skills and
performance through work immersion
among Grade 12 students of Victorias
National High School S.Y. 2018-2019.
Specific Objectives

• 1. What is the Demographic profile of students in

terms of:
• 1.1 Age
• 1.2 Gender
• 1.3 Financial Status
• 1.4 Academics
• 2. How does work immersion affects
the skills and performance of Grade 12
students?
• 3. Is there a significant difference on
the work immersion experience on the
academic performance of the Grade 12
students?
HYPOTHESIS

• 1. Students who acquire work immersion

really help them enhance their skills and
performance.
• 2. Students who acquire work immersion
really gains experience on their academic
performance.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
• Co-employees
• Immersion Partners
• Parents
• Researchers
• School
• School Administrator
• Students
• Teachers
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE
STUDY

• This study will be conducted to the

selected students of Grade 12 of Victorias
National High School. It is located in Brgy.

WORK IMMERSION OUTCOME/RESULTS

ACADEMIC
PERFORMANCE
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

• DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones (2017) defines

work immersion as a key feature in the senior high school
curriculum. It can be conducted in different ways
depending on the purposes and needs of the learners.
• Dep Ed (2018) defines work immersion as a key
subject under the senior high school curriculum that may
be conducted in different ways and time frame as needed
by the SHS learners.
CHAPTER II
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
• This literature review focuses on the
following movements through topic of
enhancement of skills and performance through
work immersion in order to understand their
context.
• Hahnenberg (2010) describes a sense of
meaning for ones life as coming from deep within
ones sense of who they are. One's purpose is based
on self-understanding.
• According to Dede (2009), immersion
is “the participant’s suspension of disbelief
that she or he is ‘inside’ a digitally enhanced
setting” (p.66).
• Accoding to Cheng, She & Annetta,
(2015), conceptualizing immersion as a
gradated process of cognitive and emotional
involvement, researchers have argued that
heightened levels of immersion can facilitate
science learning.
Chapter III
METHODOLOGY
This study presents the research design to be used, the respondents of the
study, the locale of the study and the data gathering procedure

Research design
• The Survey design will be used in this study. This design is most
appropriate because this study will focus on the enhancement of skills through
work immersion of the respondents that the researchers are going to gather as
well as the the information that is obtained may be concerned with the
prevelence, the distribution, and/or the interrelationships between variables
within these groups.
Respondents of the study
• The respondents of this study will be the
Grade 12 students of Victorias National High
School who are most likely will engage in work
immersion.
Locale of the study
• Victorias National High School will be
the locale of the study. It is located at Yap. Quina
St. Brgy. 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
Research Instruments
• The researcher conducted a survey to gather
data/information through a researchers-made questionnaire
in the relation to enhance of skills and performance through
work immersion among Grade 12 students.
Validity of the study

the questionnaire, a jury composed of three evaluators who will
be the grammarian, mathematician and expert of this field will
be given a copy of questionnaire and each one validated it. The
panelist reviewed every item in the questionnaire and rated
using the Good and Scates validation instrument.
Reliability of the Research Instrument
• After the questionnaire will be validated, the
reliability of the research instrument followed through a
dry-run method. The questionnaire will administered
once to the selected students of Grade 12 Victorias
National High School
Data-gathering Procedure
• In gathering data, the researchers will use
structured survey questionnaire. It contains some
points about the study provided with space in which
respondents must answer the given questions.
Data Analysis

• After the data will be gathered, it

will be tallied for this will show if work
immersion really enhance the skills of
Grade 12 students.
