WHAT IS THE NORTH-SOUTH DIVIDE?
 TheNorth-South Divide is used to
describe socioeconomic differences
among North and South countries

A political categorization of countries

NORTH VS. SOUTH
TRANSPORTATION
NORTH TRANSPORTATION
 The Northern mostly traveled by
railroads. They had 20,000 miles of
tracks.

 Inearly 1800s the railroads and


steam engines were invented to
move goods faster.
SIMILARITIES
 They import and export goods with their
transportation and also the north had
the rivers to travel by but it was less
popular.

 TheSouth had 10,000 miles of tracks to


travel by, but it was also less convenient.
DIFFERENCES
 North

The most common difference of the north is


that they have railroads to import and
export goods while also traveling people.
 South

The most common difference of the south


against the north is they travel by rivers
to import or export of goods and travel
people.
