One of the language in english language that should be learn by the learner is writing, writing
is phsycological activity of the language user to put information in writing text.
According to Busmin (2006, p. 3), in fact, In Indonesia students writing skill in English
language is very low, it is found that Indonesian students are still difficult in comprehending
the text.
Than according to Christina (2011, P. 2), the reason why students still get low in writing
achievement is not only from the student themselves, but also from the teacher.
Based on the writer did interview with one of English teacher on 14 mei 2016 at SMP Negeri
14 OKU. The relust many students complained the difficulties in writing subject because they
are did not know how to write their idea and feeling.
In this case, there is one approach that can be uses in teaching writing is Task Based Learning
Approach. Task Based Learning is an approach that uses to help the students in learning in the
class using Task. According Willis (2006, p. 23) Task is an activity where the target language
used by learner for communicative purposes in order to achieve an outcome.
Related some problem above, the writer interest to use Task Based Learning Approach in
teaching writing Improving, with a research entitle, Improving Writing Skill of the Eighth
Grade Students of SMP Negeri 14 OKU by Using Task Based Learning Approach.
