3. Describe what specifically you can do to enhance or

4. Write a 500 word report describing the insights you gained
from completing the table on how to further develop your
HOTS. Submit this table and your report to your FLT for
evaluation

MODULE 2 ASSIGNMENT – PART 1
• Provide a brief description of your classroom (i.e.
class size, classroom dimensions, equipment
available, facilities, etc.)
• Given the resources in your classroom, design a

floor plan of your thinking classroom showing the
physical layout (i.e. desk placement, seating
arrangements/assignment, classroom space design,
equipment, etc.)

• Decide on the kind of activity setting (flexible, integrated or
variable) that is suitable for the instructional strategies that
you will employ
• Prepare a 500 word description of each of the elements in
your layout and explain why they are essential for your

thinking classroom.
• A minimum requirement is a photo documentation or a
drawing of the floor plan and be as creative as you can
given the technological support available.

colleagues to visit your Thinking Classroom.
• Request them to accomplish the feedback form and to
make recommendations further improvement of the
physical environment of your thinking classroom.

1. Develop a semi-detailed Lesson Plan integrating HOTS for a selected topic
for a subject you teach demonstrating the 6As: Activity, Analysis, Abstraction,
Application, Assessment, Assignment/Agreement:
– Use of effective questioning and instructional approaches,
– Learning tasks for your students, e.g. article review, case study, situation
analysis, and a sample assessment rubric for the task.
• Provide a brief introduction on the strategies used in the lesson plan in order

to enhance your students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills
• Present your Lesson Plan to your School Head for review and feedback
• Prepare a 500 word reflection on the insights you have gained from the
professional consultation and what improvements you will make to integrate
HOTS more effectively in your lesson plan.
