BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

OBJECTIVES
 Generally, this study will aim to come up with a proposed design structure of flood
control at Barangay Pugay, San Jose, Camarines Sur.

Specifically, the study will intend to;

 1. Study the present conditions of the existing flood control structure in terms of:

 a.) Location.

 b.) Age.

 c.) Materials used.

 d.) Rangas River attributes.

 e.) Elevation Profile of Rangas River.

 2. Determine the cause of flooding along Rangas River in Barangay Pugay, San
Jose,

Camarines Sur.

 3. Design of proposed flood control structure that is suited to all above

conditions.

 4. Determine the benefits if the flood control structure is implemented in the

area.

GAP BRIDGE OF THE STUDY
 All the related literature and studies discussed about impacts, performance of flood

control, and gave a deeper insight to the researchers in different aspects for a proposed

study in flood control structure. However, not among the reviewed studies undertook

the proposed design flood control structure in Barangay Pugay. The present study

proposes a flood control structure that will address the flooding problems during rainy

season, which will consider the maximum flood level and the overtopping of levees

along the Rangas River in Barangay Pugay, San Jose, Camarines Sur.
