SUMMARY OF FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION

1. What is the profile of the respondents as in terms of

a. age
Majority of the respondents came from the ages of 14 and 15. This is evident considering the
fact that the respondents are junior high school students of Lawy High School
b. sex
Majority of the respondents interviewed were female. Despite the fact that the majority of the
population of Lawy High School are female, they were also the ones who mostly agreed to be
interviewed
2. What is the perception of the respondents on the legalization of divorce?
Majority of the respondents don’t agree that divorce be legalized in the
Philippines. This finding is not surprising since Filipinos are known to have a
conservative view towards marriage and family. Given also the fact that the
respondents are minors, they might still have a very idealistic view on marriage
and believe that divorce is not necessary
3. What are the reasons behind the responses of the respondents?
THOSE WHO AGREED FOR DIVORCE TO BE LEGALIZED
Majority of the respondents cited “maghiwalay na lamang kung hindi na
nagkakaintindihan” as the reason why divorce should be legalized. In a family
where the husband and the wife no longer have the love, the respect and the
passion to continue with their marriage, divorce then makes sense.
THOSE WHO DISAGREED FOR DIVORCE TO BE LEGALIZED
Majority of the respondents cited “ang kasal ay sagrado at pangako sa harap
ng Diyos” as the main reason why couple should not separate hence, divorce
should not be legalized. This shows that respondents put high emphasis on
marriage as a sacred thing in the sight of God.
RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Follow up correlational study be made to connect the responses to the socio-

demographic profile of the respondents
2. Case study be made on students having parents who are separated
3. Counseling to those students who are having a dysfunctional family
