There are many different kinds of
music. Some of them are very old
and some others new.
During the centuries people
created new styles of music. They
created new music, they mixed
old ones. History of music is very
long and interesting.
Pop music (most popular music
among adults)
Rap music. Words in this kind
of music are not sung, but
spoken. There are many rap
singers in Ukraine and in the
world.
Country music is a genre of American popular
music that originated in the Southern United
States in the 1920s. It takes its roots from the
southeastern genre of American folk music and
Western music. Blues modes have been used
extensively throughout its recorded history.
Country music often consists of ballads and
dance tunes with generally simple forms and
harmonies accompanied by mostly string
instruments such as banjos, electric and
acoustic guitars , fiddles as well as harmonicas.
Blues is a genre and musical form that originated in
African-American communities in the "Deep South" of
the United States around the end of the 19th century.
The genre developed from roots in traditional African
music, combined with European American folk music.
Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers,
shouts, and chants, and rhymed simple narrative
ballads.
Jazz is a music genre that originated
from African American communities of
New Orleans in the United States
during the late 19th and early 20th
centuries. It emerged in the form of
independent traditional and popular
musical styles, all linked by the
common bonds of African American
and European American musical
parentage with a performance
orientation.
Rock music is a genre of popular music
that originated as "rock and roll" in the
United States in the 1950s, and
developed into a range of different
styles in the 1960s and later,
particularly in the United Kingdom and
the United States. It has its roots in
1940s' and 1950s' rock and roll, itself
heavily influenced by blues, rhythm
and blues and country music
