Urban transport is rising to the top of the agenda in many Asian

cities as traffic jams and congestions are becoming a part of
everyday life.

@ rrent patterns in transport planning

greater dependency on cars.
mnvestments in highly subsidized resource-intensive public
transport system such as MRT often do not sufficiently benefit
the urban poor.
Non-motorized modes of transport, such as walking and cycling
are often (indirectly) discouraged.
