CASE
• A 38 years old G3P3, divorced executive present to your clinic for you contraceptive
advice. She is currently in a monogamous relationship and has been in it for several
months. She denies any allergy. She occasionally drinks alkohol and smokes half a
pack of cogarettes a day. She mentions that she used to take brith control pills
without any problems. All of her three children were born via vaginal delivery
without complication. She and her boyfriend sexually transmitted disease (STD)-free
based on their recent chekups. She report that she is tired of using over-the-counter
contraceptive because they are incovenient. She said that her life is very busy
because of work. She feras any form of surgery and has not excluded having
another child. Her laboratory workup it normal. Her physical examination is
normal. She is looking for ‘’best contraceptive method’’ for the situation.

• According to WHO family planning is an action that helps individuals or
husbands to:
(1) Avoid unwanted birth
(2) Get desired birth
(3) Regulate birth intervals
(4) Control the time at birth in relationship with the age of husband and wife
(5) Determine the number of children in the family
PURPOSE
• The goals of family planning according to BKKBN (2012) are:
1. Improving the health and well-being of mothers and children as well as
their families and nation in general
2. Increasing the dignity of people’s lives by recuding birth rates so that
population growth does not exceed the ability to improved repoduction.
