 Resources which are incorrect, illegal, or debatable.  Resources which are real,
accepted, or official.
 Resources which require or show great energy and effort.

 Resources which underwent very difficult or challenging processes in order to be published.

- Is the author’s qualifications/experiences provided?
 Author’s name and contact information
 Author’s background, education, or training
 Professor of a reputable university
 His or her publications

CURRENCY ( )
- What is the date of publication?
 Date of publication should be at most 5 years
earlier than the current year.

CONTENTS ( )
- Does the author have a lot of citations on his or her text
and/or a bibliography or work cited section?
 Tone and style of writing
 Information accurate
 Should not be biased or prejudiced
 Words are not contracted
 Sources are not disputable

LOCATION OF SOURCES ( )
- Where is the source published? Is it published digitally or in print?
- Does it provide complete publication information?
- Is it a book, an academic journal, or a reputable news source?
 Avoid blogs and wiki sites like Wikipedia, Wiktionary, and/or
Wikiquotes
 Common URL (CONG: .com, .org., .net, and .gov)
 In Academic Writing (GONE: .gov, .org., .net, and .edu)
