 SUMMARY
• Swad fast food is an restaurant located on J.M. road. The restaurant opens
from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. late at night throughout the week. The food stuffs
provided include Idli, dosas, wadas etc. along with pizza’s and cold drinks etc.
• The major objective of the restaurant is to provide “quality food and service at
reasonable price “ says Mr. Shetty.
• The restaurant has its major clientele from the college going students followed
by the office goers then the family. The restaurant becomes most crowdy
during 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m to 8 p.m. in the evening.

 Problems Faced by Swad Fast Food

• Less Staff: Since during the peak hours the crowd use to be in huge amount, and
hence it became difficult for the staff to provide with the services on time. The
crew in the kitchen could not keep up with the pace of orders.
• Parking: One of the major concern of Mr. Shetty was parking. Since large
number of people visited the restaurant there should be parking issue as most of
the space for parking is occupied by shops nearby or people going to offices.
• Seating: Due to shortage of space, most of his customers did not have proper
sitting for themselves. There are only “8” tables for 32 people to sit and
additionally he can put 2 more tables in the porch outside to provide space for 8
more people to sit, but most of the time people did not have favourable
impression of their service.
 Solutions
• In order to manage the crowd during the peak and also at non-peak hour,
Mr.Shetty can consider hiring of more staff in order to not cause any kind of service
failure and delay in services, also increase in the number of staff can reduce the
burden of kitchen staff which had most difficulty.
• At the porch a small round table, provided with an umbrella shed (standee).
• The outside area can also be decorated and foundations etc. can be set.
• Mr.Shetty should add drive thru area for takeaway for ex.McDonald’s.
• As Parking slots are less and mostly occupied by shop owners, they should park
their vehicles somewhere else.
