The document discusses using drones to monitor air pollution. A team of students aims to design an autonomous drone that can detect polluted areas, collect air samples, send the location data to a ground station via GPS, and return to its launch point. The drone would be able to fly autonomously to predefined areas to survey for polluting industries or gas emissions and report the locations of any polluted sites found. The team plans to mount a spectrophotometer on the drone to measure air pollution levels more effectively than gas sensors. Future work involves building the drone, integrating the spectrophotometer payload, enabling autonomous flight control, and testing the system.

VENKATRAMAN S.B (1808045) PROBLEM STATEMENT: It is proven that air pollution changes abruptly even at relatively short distances, both horizontally and vertically. Air pollutants are especially difficult to monitor with conventional and cheap means of observation. This might, however, change with the usage of drones of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Why? Because UAVs and drones, with the passage of time, are quickly adapting to become devices capable of carrying sophisticated tools of investigation and monitoring and processing the data that they record or collect. OBJECTIVES To make a autonomous drone to find the air polluted area collect air samples and send the location through the GPS to the ground station .Drone took off and go to the defined areas to survey there if any industries or some places emitting the poisonous gas .our drone will detect that place send the location to the ground station and return to the launching pad. WORK PLAN: Making a drone Make it both Manual and Autonomous Control Self designed Printed Circuit Board for the IR SPECTROPHOTOMETER mount SPECTROPHOTOMETER MOUNTING Connect with GPS Testing WORK DONE •First we plan to mount the gas sensors but spectrophotometer is more effective than gas sensors •Developing the coding knowledge FUTURE WORK TO BE DONE: Builting a drone for carrying our payload Drone calibration Our drone will be a AUTONOMOUS flying object so made it for AUTONOMOUS flying. Design a PCB board for mounting the SPECTROPHOTOMETER Knowing about the GAS sensing SPECTROPHOTOMETER Making the integrated payload Connect the drone path with GPS Testing the drone in located areas.
