RAHMATH FAMILY
RESTAURANT

• The RAHMATH restaurant was started


back in 1961 by Kunjahammad,
popularized beef biriyani in Calicut, a
place that was obsessed with mutton
and chicken biriyani till then.
• They offer food at comparatively low
price and awesome taste of these dishes
made the foodies in the district
instantly like this dish and their started
the legacy of Rahmath hotel.
• The amount to which they care about
customer satisfaction is evident from
the fact that they have arranged for
transportation from the parking area
of the hotel that is barely 100 meters
away for their needy customers.
• This restaurant has three main
dining areas including an ordinary,
air conditioned and family dining
area.
ECONOMICAL ENVIRONMENT

• ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
 HOTEL RAHMATH is indeed a common man's biriyani
paradise. Now they have renewed their building and
has set a new parking lot but its 100-200 mts away.
 The road which leads to the hotel is very narrow. This
makes it very difficult for the customers to go by cars.
During noon time this creates huge block in this road
especially on Sundays. The space inside the hotel is
also very congested. Sometimes people have to wait
outside the hotel during noon due to the rush.
• TECHNOLOGICAL FACTORS:
• Innovation and technology affect business environments. As technology
advances, a business is forced to keep pace. They don’t have an online
reservation system nor a home delivery system of their own.
• MONTHLY EXPENDITURE:
• They will have a minimum profit of 25% every month. They have
expenses like payroll expenses, maintenance, supplies, rent, electricity,
water etc (approx 30%-35%). They have monthly salary system since
they operate 7days whole in a week.
• The approximated monthly salary they
give are listed below
DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS

• They give sub contracts for supplying the meat


through dealers. Quality of the meat is the
primary factor they checks.
• Since they don’t have a e-commerce site, they rely
upon:
 ZOMATO : Zomato currently charges 25% as
commission fees from restaurants under its food
ordering business, which does not include
delivery and payment gateway charges.

• Businesses use various marketing tools to communicate company


information, stimulate customer interest and motivate action.
“HOTEL RAHMATH” is available on www.justdail.com ,
www.tripadvisor.com,www.tastyspots.com , www.potafo.in ,
www.yatra.com www.quickkerala.com and several other sites
which help the tourists and others to easily locate the hotel.
• They do have a website of their own in which only the contact
details and route map is given.
• They also does promotional items such as interviews and
programs through various television channels like kappa
tv , asianet ,surya tv and through blogs of many people
through youtube. They have also did promotion through
the famous movie “Ustaad Hotel” starring Dulquer
Salman.
• They don’t have any accounts in twitter, youtube ,
Instagram or facebook.
• People give feedbacks and reviews in various travel sites
like trip advisor and because of this Rahmath is listed as
no.1 when one searches on google.
SUGGESTIONS

1. WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
They have a website which shows the location of the hotel and the contact
number. They can modify the very same website by adding their menu cards ,
ordering system , customer images and so on. They can start a research by
following the steps below:
• Online Food Ordering website with App to host products (expense 3lac to
5lacs) will take 2 months to roll out by a professional developer.
• A small team with 2 people can work to manage the orders on web.
• 2 delivery boys with 2 scooters initially get 2nd hand to workout .(monthly
cost of 20k , as salary and fuel and scooter maintenance will be 10k each)
• Digital marketing and promotions in the city.(5–10k a month for initial
3months)

2. ONLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM


They don’t have a system through which one person (family) can book their seats.
They can provide half of their seats in AC section as reservation through their
website.
3. HOME DELIVERY SYSTEM
They can add home delivery system which would make a huge impact since many people
struggle to get a parcel during peak hours. Other websites like potafo does delivery but with a
charge of Rs.50/-. So rather than this if they have an own system it would make it easier for
the people since everyone may not know about a website like “potafo”. Presently through
POTAFO customers can get the food but with delivery charges which is quite high.
4. TOKEN SYSTEM IN PARCEL COUNTER
Token system can be generated in parcel counter. Customers can order for parcel by calling
and come and collect food within the time given thus reduce the rush. Apart from the people
who come to eat the food these people also get mixed up and this makes a huge chaos at the
entrance of the hotel
5. PROMOTIONS.
They can make advertisements and banners or through any social media
they can promote their dishes so that people can have a direct approach or
direct word other than the reviews. They can develop a hashtag and make
an account in Instagram , which is the most trending way of promoting
food.
6. SEASONAL STALLS.
During the season of ifthar they can keep stalls in the city so that food will
be available to a wider range of people with less rush.
7. DELIVERY IN TRAINS
Since they’re near to the Kozhikode railway station, they can also supply food in the railway station like
the one started by dominos.

8. IMPROVE THE TABLE SERVICE


The only drawback which every customer says about the hotel is the service. They should appoint more
staffs and make more space inside. Otherwise they fail to give a peaceful atmosphere to the customers.

9. IMPROVE PARKING AREA


One has to walk more than 100mtr to the car parking area.
Bikes can be parked at the front.
10. TAKE AWAY SYSTEM NEAR RAILWAY STATION.
They can start a take away system near the railway station like the MRA in
Kannur since beef biriyani from rahmath has become the signature dish of
the district.
Those who won’t get time to go and eat from rahmath after a visit at
Kozhikode can pick up the food at this counter would be the best option!

By bringing up an e-commerce website, they can
spread their business to higher class people also. In
this competitive business world, even restaurants
should keep their pace. The main objective by
incorporating e-commerce to RAHMATH HOTEL is ,
if the customer wish to have a particular dish,
he/she doesn’t need to go and wait, instead their
choice will be available within their fingertips.
