SOLAR WATER PUMP BASED ON SOIL

MOISTURE SENSOR
ABSTRACT
 Cost effective solar power can be the answer for all our energy needs.

 Solar powered smart irrigation systems are the answer to the Indian farmer.

 This system consists of solar powered water pump along with an automatic water
flow control using a Soil Moisture sensor technology.

 It is the proposed solution for the present energy crisis for the Indian farmers.

 This system conserves electricity by reducing the usage of grid power and
conserves water by reducing water losses.

 This project will be a design and implementation of a solar panel.

ABSTRACT (Continued)
 The motor control and sensing circuitry will run on batteries charged by the solar
panel.

 This project will use 10W solar panels of approximately 15 inches by 10 inches to
model larger panels used in industry.

 Sun powered power is utilized as just the wellspring of energy to control the
general framework.

 Without going to the paddy fields, agriculturist can control the pump set by using
soil moisture sensor which senses the water content in the soil and gives the signal
to the water pump to ON and OFF automatically.
SOLAR POWERED WATER PUMP
INTRODUCTION
 Solar based automatic irrigation using soil moisture sensor helps to maintain
proper water supply at equal interval of time which will rid of the problem of scarcity
of water and over use of water through automatic system.
 In this solar based automatic irrigation is done by sensing the soil moisture placed
in field. Here moisture sensor measures the volumetric moisture contain or soil
resistivity present in the soil.
 If the moisture content in soil is less or soil is dry than again pump will run and
supply the water.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
 This project is mainly related with off-grid application.

 The objective is to supply water to the fields by using solar power as the main
source.

 In this, the user do not worry about watering the farm fields because it is done by
using soil moisture sensor.
ADVANTAGES
 Low power consumption

 Easy to operate

 Flexible to run at specific intervals

APPLICATIONS
 Agricultural fields

 Agriculture research stations

 Cultivations

 Nursery plants
