EnergyIP8.6
Session 1 Overview

• Introduction
• Energyip features
• Emeter Data Model
• Deployment Overview
• Layers of Energyip
• Component Overview of EnergyIP8.6
• EnergyIP Platforms
Introduction
• EnergyIP serves as a high performance data integration platform for electric, gas, and
water utilities to collect and process consumption data from AMI systems and manage
all transactions between the enterprise and the consumption end-points.
• The EnergyIP data repository is the “system of record” for revenue-grade consumption
and transaction data within the utility.
• The platform manages complex relationships between consumption data and
accounts/devices/services.
• EnergyIP serves as a powerful development platform for new applications that use
consumption data, allowing app developers to focus on solving business problems
rather than data management.
Energy IP8.6 Features
Top 3 features of EnergyIp8.6
• Customer can choose the data source either they can go for Oracle or Apache Cassandra
• Apache Cassandra:- NoSQL data store for time series data, Based on open source Apache Cassandra,
provides high availability with no single point of failure
• Apache Kafka
• As more types of devices in grid connected to digital platform such as Energyip
• Increasing amt of data being collected and processed as internal messaging in energyip kafka provides
message replication, message persistence, high availability and fault tolerance
• Cyber security and data privacy
• General data privacy regulation (GDPR)
Energy IP8.6 Features
• At its core energyip platform used to acquire or manage large volums of data as part of the meter
data management energyip manges the energy usage related data of smart meter based
infrastructure to support the need of the utilities
• The Key feature of energyip
• Modern ui framework (desktop application in browsing)
• In memory data grid (4x faster meter read processing)
• Agile application frame work(provides messaging between application )
• Built for customization (customizable UI, data model and service)
• Performance monitoring
• Scalability
• VEE Rule
• Framing
• Data Analytics
• Data Repository
Data Model of EnergyIP 8.6
Deployment Overview of EnergyIP 8.6
• AMI Adapters: Import data from the various data collection technologies into EnergyIP.
• AMI FileHandler: For file-based AMI data, this component will read and parse the files and
forward the incoming data for VEE processing.
• Device Reads Processor: Handles the incoming Intervals, Registers and Events - the heart of
EnergyIP MDM.
• Summary Handler: Listens for statistics and exception messages on the EnergyIP Message
Bus and writes all data it finds in the MUDR database for long term reference.
• EnergyIP JMS bus: Transports data from one component to the next.
• MUDR (Metered Usage Data Repository): Stores meter reading data.
• EIP Database: Stores all asset and historic relationship data.
• User Interface: Gives end users a way to view, update and even export the data that is stored
in the MUDR and the AMI Management Database.
• FlexSync: Used for Customer Information System (CIS) synchronization.

Integration Layer

Platform Layer
Layers of EnergyIP 8.6
• Application layer (contains siemens and other 3rd party application)
• Analytics (gives insight of the customer usage and requirements)
• Billing (revenue related)
• etc
• Integration layer (helps to interact with energyip like SAP AMI adapter)
• Integration adapter (SAP Adapter)

• Platform Layer (which provide fundamental technologies data structure, graphical user interface
and frame work options)
• Modern ui framework(desktop application in browser)
• In memory data grid (4x faster meter read processing)
• Application framework (integrate with exiting apps)
• Scalability (scale application )
• Visual administration (intuitively configure and monitor application)
• Built for customization (customizable Ui, data models and services)
Component Overview EnergyIP 8.6
User Interface,Platform EnergyIP 8.6
• Main Console
• Billing and validation analyst and to manage and monitor utility data
• System console
• It is used by technical system administrator

The EnergyIP® platform requires:

• Application servers running Java
• Messaging servers running Kafka
• A database server running Oracle for your asset database (EIP schema)
• A database server running Oracle or Cassandra for your time series database (MUDR schema)

• Putty is Command Prompt for running Linux Command with help of the commands can start or stop
Eidg server and stop and restart the flexsyn and etc.
