Connection Cable
The Same cable for RBS 2000 cabinets, But we add to it a
new (Serial  RJ cable) with the following pin
assignment.

Connecting the OMT
• Connect the cable to LMT A of the DUG

You need to configure new site as below
configuration:
4/4/4/0/0/0.

You must choose same serial port in Pc & OMT
• Start the OMT.
• In the Tools menu , click
Optuons (This opens up the
Options window).
• Select same port as in Pc..

Create IDB
Step 1:
• From configuration menu choose create IDB
or click in this icon

Step 2:
• From Create IDB window choose New or Modify

Cabinet Setup
Define Setup for Cabinet:
• Cabinet Type:
– RBS Series and version (RBS 2000 , RBS 6000 ,……etc.).

• Power System:
– RBS connected direct to AC
– RBS connected to Cabinet power

• Climate System:
– Number of fan groups.

Creating IDB
-Start the OMT.
In the Configuration menu , click Create IDB (This opens up the Create
IDB window).

Antenna Sector Setup
• Number of sector:
• Frequency
• Antenna sharing
• RUS
• TMA
• RE Setup

Radio Equipment Setup
• Radio Mode
– Single.
– Mixed ( can handle tow technologies together out of three 2G, 3G
and 4G)

• Number of TRX/MCTR
– Depend on site configuration per sector

 Click Ok in the Define
Antenna System window
to confirm.
 If addtitional antenna
systems will be defined in
the sector, then repeat the
steps above.
 Select RE Setup(to select
number fo TRX/MCTR as
site requierment)

Create IDB Window

 In the Final
Configuration
Selection window,
select the site cell
configuration (SCC).
 Verify that correct
parameters have
been entered. Click
Ok.

Final Configuration Selection window
 From Final Configuration
Selection window select OK.
 If choose Configuration Wizard,
select Run Configuration Wizard
but here we don’t need to use
Wizard configuration.

Defining Present RU
There are two ways to define Present Rus :
 Click the Configuration Menu then select Define and select
Present Rus.

 click the shortcut button/toolbar as shown

 Move the RUs in the configuration


used to Present box by selecting the
RU to be moved and clicking ← key
(or double-clicking the RUs to be
moved).
 Click Ok when finished.

Defining Alarm Inlets (External Alarms)

In Defining Alarm Inlets window
-Select SCU (if we connected External Alarms dirctly to SCU).
-Select SAU (if we connected External Alarms dirctly to SAU).
