Project Background
ONLINE SHOPPING CART SYSTEM…?
The process of purchasing products or services over the
Internet is known as online-shopping. Online shopping is time
saving. It helps the consumers to buy products from safest
place in short time. Everyone wants the thing quickly and
easy on his/her doorstep. In Pakistan, technology is gradually
being improved. Many websites for online shopping is being
developed and the trend is getting popular day by day in
Pakistan. People usually buy electronic items such as cell
phones, computers, tablet PC’s and computer accessories,
laptops, cloth, cosmetic products and a lot of other products
from online stores. This trend of online shopping can enhance
the business e-commerce and online marketing which can
improve the economy of Pakistan.
VISION OF PROJECT
 In this project we are going to develop a web based
application:
• To provide an efficient system to customer that will
facilitate the customer to purchase product, pay bill
and manage shopping cart online efficiently .
 To create a user friendly interface to cash and carry
product without wastage of time.
 To pay bills by using different bill paying mechanism
like credit cards and easy paisa.
TOOLS OF PROJECT
 My Sql: SQL updated version 5.7 will be used to create
data tables.
 PHP: PHP will be used to develop an interactive
website.
 ADOBE PHOTO SHOP: Will be used to create charts
and graphs for the illustration of data and tables.

 The project development may be affected due to lack

 There can be miscommunication of FR b/w between

 This project will deliver an integrated system for online
shopping. This will include an interactive website . Moreover,
this system will be deployed in an organization that is willing to
deploy to online shopping system.

Requirement Specification
 Functional Requirement
 These are the requirements that essentially specify something system
should do.
 In this project functional requirements are divided into three
categories.
 Category 1
 Functionalities for customers:
 User Registration: users get registered with our website by providing all
necessary information.
 The information provided by user is stored in database customer’s
table.
 Registered customer can add, edit or delete product from shopping
cart.
 Already registered customers can login by providing the accurate user
name followed by Password.
 Category 2
 Functionalities for vendors:
 Already registered vendors can login by providing the accurate
user name followed by Password.
 Vendor Registration: vendors get registered with our website by
providing all necessary information
 The information provided by vendor is stored in database
vendor’s table.
 Keeps record of all the products entered by different vendors in
items table.
 Keeps record of all products categories entered by different
vendors in category table.
 Vendor can send email to their respective customers.
 Category 3
 Admin functionalities:
 Admin will manage products.
 Admin will manage vendors.
 Admin will manage customers
 Category 4
 System functionalities:
 Our system keeps record of orders that are made by the customers.
 Storing the feedback given by vendors in vendor table
 Keep record of comments made by customers on different products
 Keeping detail about the product it is delivered or not
 Storing the items in temporary storage that are selected by the
customer in the shopping cart.
 Our system notify vendor when his/her product quantity becomes less
than five.
 Our system also provides the related product functionality.
 Our system provides Top sales product upfront.
 Our system provides the discounted products on home page.
Non Functional Requirements
 These are the requirements that are not functional in nature. These are
the constraints the system must work within.
 Performance requirements: our website is compatible with all kind of
web browsers.
 Security requirements: Any modification regarding product (insertion,
deletion, updating) for the database is only done by the vendor who has
uploaded the respective product. Only owner of the website has rights
to view uploaded products, registered customer and registered vendor.
 Reliability: the website can be used by multiple users concurrently. Any
user can access the website with using even a low performance PC.
 Availability: the system is available during 24 hours of the day.
 Portability: user can log in to the system at any time.
 Robustness: the system will not be broken down easily and will not
wholly affect by a single application failure.

entities of the project can be seen very clearly,
separately, in documentation of our project.
