Opening Prayer

Lord, our help and guide,


make Your love the
foundation of our lives. May
our love for You express itself
in our eagerness to do good
for others. You live and reign
with the Father and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and
ever. Amen.
Luke 11:42-46
The Lord said: "Woe to you Pharisees!
You pay tithes of mint and of rue and of
every garden herb, but you pay no
attention to judgment and to love for
God. These you should have done,
without overlooking the others.
…Woe to you Pharisees! You love the
seat of honor in synagogues and
greetings in marketplaces. Woe to
you! You are like unseen graves over
which people unknowingly walk."
…Then one of the scholars of the law
said to him in reply, "Teacher, by
saying this you are insulting us too."
And he said, "Woe also to you
scholars of the law! You impose on
people burdens hard to carry, but you
yourselves do not lift one finger to
touch them."

How blessed is anyone who
rejects the advice of the
wicked and does not take a
stand in the path that sinners
tread, nor a seat in company
with cynics, but who delights
in the law of Yahweh and
murmurs His law day and
night. (Ps 1: 1-2)
• Some fell on the rocky ground,
where it had a little soil. It sprang
up at once because the soil was
not deep, and when the sun rose,
it was scorched, and it withered
for lack of roots.
- The seed represents the people
who readily receives Jesus’
preaching but does not endure as
a disciple.
•Some seed fell among
the thorns, and the
thorns grew up and
choked it
- This seed represents the
people whose goal is
material gain, not the
kingdom of God.
•But some seed fell on the
rich soil, and produced fruit,
a hundred or sixty or
thirtyfold. Whoever has ears
ought to hear.”
-The seed and soil represent
those who hear and
understand the word of God.

“Try to reflect: Of the four kinds of soil, which of those is

Increase Your Spirit within us
and bring us to our promised
inheritance.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus
Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns

Jesus said to his disciples: “If your brother sins
against you, go and tell him his fault between
you and him alone. If he listens to you, you
have won over your brother. If he does not
listen, take one or two others along with you, so
that every fact may be established on the
testimony of two or three witnesses.
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the Church. If
he refuses to listen even to the Church, then
treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax
collector.
Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree
on earth about anything for which they are to
pray, it shall be granted to them by my
Heavenly Father. For where two or three are
gathered together in My Name, there am I in
the midst of them”
