CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE AND TECHOLOGY

This came up to be the first science and technology master plan
or STMP. Its goal is for the Philippines to achieve newly
industrialized country status by year 2000. she encourage scientist
and investors to bring the Philippinws to its former position as
second to Japan in the field of Science and Technology. She
urged that the private research sector form a stronger bond
between public research to help jump-start the progress in the
area of the Philippine Research and Development.
*RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
It was also formulated to examine and
determine which areas of research needed
attention must be given priority. The criteria for
identifying the program to be pursued were,
development of local material, probability of
success, potential of product in the export market
and its strategic nature.
 At her time the funding for
the Science and Technology
sector was tripled form 164
million in 1986 to 1.7 billion in
1992
