WHAT IS MEMORY MAPPED I/O ?

• A way to exchanged data and instruction between a CPU and peripheral devices attached
to it
• The processor and the IO devices share the same memory location(memory)
• It also use the same address bus to address both memory and I/O devices, and the CPU
instruction used are same for the accessing the memory and also accessing devices
