Teaching Philosophy
“Teaching is the Sunshine on a Cloudy Day” is my teaching metaphor which I have

lived by throughout my entire teaching experiences, and something that I plan to

implement in my classroom. As the parent, you are your child’s first teacher, it is my

job to integrate the funds of knowledge which are the values, traditions, and cultural

practices that you pass onto your child, and apply them in a way that will help them

achieve their highest level of success. With that being said, I believe that teachers play

an immense part in their students lives as we are helping them grow physically,

mentally, academically, and socially. Some individuals may say this is too big of a task,

by I embrace the challenge because as a teacher I will make sure I have a positive

impact on my student’s lives. If I can tell that one of my student is struggling or having

a bad day, I believe that I have the ability to make their day a little brighter by proving a

safe haven that is supportive and encouraging.

From as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher, but it was my

fourth grade teacher who changed my life, and made me realize that teaching is what I

am meant to do. It was because of her that I was able to realize what I am actually

capable of, as I reached my full potential as a student and overall human being. As your

child’s teacher, I strive to be the same role model to them as my fourth grade teacher

was to me. I believe that I will create crystallizing moments which are experiences that

create a life long impact, with your children as it is my job to make learning fun and

meaningful.
