DIGITAL SYSTEM
A digital system is a system that stores data in a discrete way.
The opposite is an analogue (US- analog) system, which stores
the data in a continuous way. Usually, digital systems store the
information in a binary way; that is, every bit of information
can not have a value other than zero (off) or one (on).
PAST OF DIGITAL SYSTEM.
One of the earliest digital systems was the dial telephone system. Pulses
generated by activating a spinning dial were counted and recorded by special
switches in a central office. After all the numbers had been dialed and
recorded, switches were set to connect the user to the desired party. A switch
is a digital device that can take one of two states: open or closed.
In 1939, Harvard University built the Harvard Mark I, which went into
operation in 1943. It was used to compute ballistic tables for the U.S. Navy. In
the next few years, more machines were built in research laboratories around
the world. The ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was
placed in operation at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the
University of Pennsylvania, component by component, beginning with the
cycling unit and an accumulator in June 1944. This was followed in rapid
succession by the initiating unit and function tables in September 1945 and
the divider and square-root unit in October 1945. Final assembly of this
primitive computer system took place during the fall of 1945.
WHAT IS ADVANCEMENT IN DIGITAL SYSTEM?
Advance Digital Systems is a leading provider of
information technology and consulting services for
Government and commercial clients, recently moved
to our state of the art facility in Fairfax, VA, to
showcase the adoption of new technologies in our
digital suite and to leverage the close proximity of
the rich talent and resources in the National Capital
Region.
BCD to 7 Segment Display
A seven-segment display is an electronic display device for displaying
decimal numerals. Seven-segment displays are widely used in digital
clocks, electronic meters and other electronic devices that display
numerical information .

JK Flip Flop
The flip flop is a basic building block of sequential logic circuits. It is a circuit that has two
stable states and can store one bit of state information. The output changes state by
signals applied to one or more control inputs.
The basic JK Flip Flop has J,K inputs and a clock input and outputs Q and Q (the inverse of
Q). Optionally it may also include the PR (Preset) and CLR (Clear) control inputs.

Ripple Counter
A ripple counter is an asynchronous counter where
only the first flip-flop is clocked by an external
clock. All subsequent flip-flops are clocked by the
output of the preceding flip-flop. Asynchronous
counters are also called ripple-counters because of
the way the clock pulse ripples it way through the
flip-flops.

Synchronous Counter Design
A finite-state machine determines its
outputs and its next state from its
current inputs and current state. A
synchronous finite state machine
changes state only when the
appropriate clock edge occurs.
