OBJECTIVES
To measure nutrients content in the soil by
measuring its pH value.
To store the values periodically to the cloud
with a time stamp.
To detect if nutrition level reduces.

EXISTING SYSTEM
Normally soil nutrition has been measured by
taking soil samples to the laboratory and by
using pH we can find the soil nutrition.
Conventional soil NPK(Nitrogen, Potassium
and Phosphorous) testing methods have been
generally performed by three steps soil
sampling, soil pretreatment and chemical
analysis.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
Time consuming.
The data cannot be stored in cloud for further
analysis.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
Using pH sensor detect pH level in the soil.
Compare the pH value with the nutrition
content.
Using Wi-Fi module the data are stored in the
cloud for future analysis.

To maintain soil fertility, we use pH sensors at
different places of soil to detect macronutrients
deficiency in the soil.
Using signal conditioner the signal is converted into
digital form.
The pH value is fed into the microcontroller which
compares the pH value produced by soil sample
being tested with the pH of fertile soil and then
corresponding values of NPK nutrients are stored in
the cloud through Wi-Fi module.

The data stored in the cloud can be analysed every 6
months or one year to study the nature of the soil
The values are sent to the Farmer mobile phones
with the help of GSM module so as to enable him to
the necessary nutrients.
We can also view the values through LCD display
connected with Arduino UNO.

WORK WE HAVE DONE SO FAR
 We had bought Arduino and Wi-Fi module so far.
 A 3.3V voltage regulator adapter(AMS1117) has
been used to give power supply for Wi-Fi module.
 We use AT commands to set the parameters of
ESP module.
 For storing data in cloud we use “ThingSpeak”,
an IOT cloud service.
 It is an IOT application to store and retrieve data
from things using HTTP protocol.

ADVANTAGES AND
APPLICATIONS
Keep the soil with its balanced nutrition.
Increase the growth of crops.
Invest less capital for fertilizers.
Reduce the addition of extra fertilizer.
