INTERNSHIP REPORT

NC SHOP AND NC PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT

• Numerical control (NC)is the automation of machine tools are automated by precisely
programmed commands encoded on a storage medium, as opposed to controlled manually by
the handwheels or levers or mechanically automated via cams alone. Most NCs today are
computer numerical control CNC
HONEY COMB SHOP

• Man made structures

• To reach minimal weight and to increase strength
• Composite of aluminium
• Interior components such as flooring, edge of the doors etc
HAWK MACHINE SHOP

• Spare parts of hawk trainer aircraft are manufactured.

• It is in the form of process layout and continuous production.
HEAT TREATMENT

• Its purpose is to change mechanical properties by heat treating

• Processes such as annealing, hardening, tempering, stress relieving etc.
PLASTIC DEPARTMENT

• Plastics are used in many applications in modern aircrafts.

• These application range from structural components to decorative components.
• Plastics used: Transparent , thermosetting, reinforced,acrylic
NC PIPE BENDING

• It is used permanently to form pipes or tubing

• One has to differentiate between formbound and freeform bending procedures as well asheat
supported and cold forming procedures
• Press bending,rotary draw bending , roll bending, tree roll push bending
SHEET METAL AND WELDING SHOP

Metal formed by an industrial process into thin flat pieces which is cut and bent into various
shapes.
It is fundamental forms used in metal working.
Processes such as bending , curling, punching, spinning , rolling etc.
Welding is a fabrication process that joints materials. Eg:TIG welding is mostly followed
TOOL ROOM AND TOOL ENGINEERING

• They design the cutting tools for manufacturing.

• They provide design of product and sequence of operation.
• These processes are given in route book in which all the operations are mentioned.
DESIGN LIAISON ENGINEERING

• Co ordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems.

• Review production schedules eng specifications , orders and related infos to maintain current
knowledge of manufacturing methods , procedures and activites.
PROCESS SHOP

• Chemical baths to the paths of the products such as cleaning , painting, removal of oil, soak
treatment, pickling , deoxidization, alkaline clean, water washing , sealing and drying.
• Chemical conversion coatings also done.
EXTERNAL SOURCES

• To search above the vendors and suppliers and to collect infos about them.
• They outsource the raw materials and semi finished parts from them
• After outsourcing the material they make record and provide data to stores and inventory dept.
EXPORT MACHINE SHOP

• Work place where side jet aircraft various parts are machined.
• International air bus and jet fighters parts are manufactured.
• Exported to US , France, Switzerland, Russia, Isreal
HAWK FINAL ASSEMBLY

• All the components of the aircraft are brought to one place.

• They are held with the help of specially designed pictures
• The aircraft is brought from equipping and loom shop and the wings are brought from wing
assembly
HAWK EQUIPPING LOOM SHOP

• Responsible for fitting electrical and hydraulics in aircraft

• First step: sorting out the entire wiring on a table based on design
• Cock pit gauges and controls, hydraulics , etc are connected at this stage
METHODS AND PROGRAM ENGINEERING

• Supervising project engineering related tasks.

• Co ordination with other depts. ,
• Accomplishing production as per customers
DROP TANKER

• Auxilliary fuel tank externally carried by aircraft

• Expandable and jettisonable
• Plays major role in military aircrafts
• Discarded in the event of emergency
STORES AND INTER\GRATED MATERIAL
MANAGEMENT

• To ensure the material cost component of the total product costs to be least.
• To achieve this the control is exercised in the following fields
• Material planning ,purchasing, store keeping, etc
MAINTAINANCE AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT

• The objectives that govern the existence of maintainance org should also guide the functional
activities of the department.
• Safety and maintainance go hand in hand because in order for items of equipment in a facility
to be operated safely .
IT AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT

• IT management creates guidelines for the rest of the dept.

• Finance dept. is responsible for cash flow and ensuring funds.
