The National Security Council was
established by the National Security Act of
1947, amended by the National Security Act
Amendments of 1949. Later in 1949, as part
of the Reorganization Plan, the Council was
placed in the Executive Office of the
President.
The National Security Council (NSC)
- is the principal advisory body on the proper
coordination and integration of plans and
policies affecting national security.
The Council Proper

- concerned officials of the Cabinet and


Congress, as members, as well as other
government officials and private citizens who
may be invited by the President.
The NSC Secretariat

- is a permanent body that provides technical


support to the Council Proper. It is headed by
the Director General / National Security Adviser.
FUNCTIONS
Advise the President with respect to the
integration of domestic, foreign, and military
policies relating to the national security.

Serves as the President's principal arm for


coordinating these policies among various
government departments and agencies in
matters involving the national security

THREATS
 REBELLION/ INSURRECTION
is a refusal of obedience or order.
TERRORISM
-is the systematic use of terror especially as
a means of coercion.
CRIME
applies to a measurable degree of damage of destruction.
MURDER
is the unlawful killing of another human being with intent (or malice).
Hijacking/Highway Robbery
crime of taking or attempting to take something of value by force or
threat of force and/or by putting the victim in fear
 KIDNAPPING/ SERIOUS ILLEGAL DETENTION
- Taking away or transportation of person
against the person’s will.
