OBJECT of The Sentence

Sentence?
In English grammar, an OBJECT is a NOUN, a NOUN
PHRASE, or a PRONOUN that is affected by the action
of a verb.

Objects are usually nouns or pronouns that answer


questions like “WHO,” and “WHAT”. Overall, they add
more details to a sentence, which makes it more
interesting and informative.

A direct object is a noun or
pronoun that receives the
verb’s action. An easy trick to
know the direct object is this
object ANSWERS the questions
“WHAT?” and “WHO?”.

When we talk about Direct
Object, we also talk about
TRANSITIVE VERB.
So, what is TRANSITIVE
VERB?

Transitive verbs are action Ask, bake, buy, bring, cut,
verbs that always express close, dislike, drink, eat, find,
doable activities that relate or get, hate, know, learn, love,
affect someone or something make, manage, mix, need,

Transitive verb must have an study, take, understand, vote,
object. The object is called write, etc.

INDIRECT OBJECT

An indirect object is the
noun or pronoun that
receives the direct object. It
answers the question
“TO/FOR WHAT?” or
“TO/FOR WHOM?”.
Indirect Object is used with some
specific verbs.
Those verbs are ask, assemble, book,
bring, build, buy, cook, cost, find,
get, give, keep, lend, make, offer,
pass, post, promise, read, save, sell,
send, show, take, teach, tell, wish,
