Introduction

 Solution for recharging of batteries

 Efficient wireless transmission

 Process of transferring power without the use of any

physical connections
Literature Survey

 Transfer of power wirelessly was discovered and applied by

Nikola Tesla. He invented the concept of WPT. This was further
improved by other scientists.

 Various non-contacting methods of plug-in electric vehicle

charging are either under development.

 Wireless power transfer (WPT) is now the accepted term for

wireless charging and is used for inductive power transfer.
Components used
 AC source
 Step-down transformer
 Solar Plate
 Primary coil
 Secondary coil

Advantages:
 Wireless transmission
 No need to plug or unplug the charging cable
 Prevention of electric shock to the user

Disadvantages:
 Distance between two coils must be same
 Capital cost is more

Applications:
 System can be placed in parking
 Can be used in toll plaza
 Road tracks can be made
Conclusion

 Wireless charging will provide many benefits compared to

wired charging. In particular, when the roads are electrified
with wireless charging capability.

 In order to achieve higher power transfer efficiency, low

harmonics and unity power factor, several stage of power
conversion is required.
