The weather is the condition of the
atmosphere in one area at a particular time,
for example if it is raining, hot, or windy.

Meaning of term“climate”
The weather conditions prevailing in
an area in general or over a long
period.
 Climate alludes to
 Weather is everyday

atmospheric
weather of a
condition of a
particular place,

speed, etc.
 Over a long period
 Varies constantly.
 For short term
 Atmosphere.
 Hydrosphere.
 Biosphere.
 Cryosphere.
 Lithosphere.
 Tropical Zone
The tropical climate zone stretches from the Tropic of Cancer at 23.5
degrees north latitude to the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.5 degrees
south latitude, with the equator centered within this zone.
 Temperate Zone
The temperate climate zone falls between 23.5 degrees and 66.5
degrees north and south latitudes.
 Polar Zone
The polar climate zones fill the areas within the Arctic and Antarctic
Circles, extending from 66.5 degrees north and south latitude to the
poles.
Sindh is divided into three climatic regions:
Siro (the upper region, centred on Jacobabad),
Wicholo (the middle region, centred on
Hyderabad), and Lar (the lower region,
centred on Karachi). The thermal equator
passes through upper Sindh, where the air is
generally very dry.
The Oceanic climates occur in the higher
middle latitudes, between 45° and 60° north
and south. They are created by the onshore
flow from the cool high latitude oceans to
their west. This causes theclimate to have
cool summers and cool (but not cold) winters.
Climate of Sindh. The province of Sindh is
situated in a subtropical region; it is hot in
the summer and cold in
winter. Temperatures frequently rise above
46 °C (115 °F) between May and August, and
the minimum average temperature of 2 °C (36
°F) occurs during December and January.
There are two sources of rainfall in pakistan:
 Western Depression are the cyclones which
originate in Mediterranean Sea, they travel
across Afghanistan and Iran and then reach
thewestern part of Pakistan.
 The monsoon, which is essentially the
seasonal reversal in wind
direction, causesmost of the rainfall received
in pakistan.
The volume of rain that falls in a heavy
shower depends on the amount of water
vapour in the atmosphere. At
higher temperaturesthe atmosphere may
contain more water vapour, thus increasing
the chance of heavy showers.

Human-induced climate change has
contributed to changing patterns of extreme
weather across the globe, from longer and
hotter heat waves to heavier rains. ... Extreme
weather is on the rise, and the indications are
that it will continue to increase, in both
predictable and unpredictable ways.
