Vivekananda girijana kalyana kendra is holistic,

sustainable development of tribal people. VGKK
now has 35 years of developmental experiences
with the soliga and other tribes in Chamarajanagar
and Mysore districts of Karnataka , Tamilnadu ,
Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar
islands.

 Sharanam Centre For Rural Development
Sharanam centre for rural development is a center for rural transformation ,spreads across 5 acres
on the western outskirts of Pondicherry.
It was proposed for the creation of a centre that would host active development programs
includin health,education, sanitation etc.
The site was extremely planted with trees which helped in reviving the highly abused site.

Multipurpose Hall
The entrance sequence leads through eucalyptus groves, gardens,an avenue of Palmyra trees and
a green amphitheater that can seat 500 people .In addition to its 500sqm vaulted multipurpose
hall,the center provides administrative offices,meeting spaces,stores and kitchen.

The primarary structure is comprised of six segmental masonry units,which span over 9.5m over
a sequence of meeting points defined by folding walls ,level changes and ornaental ponds.

It is a unique , modern, highly engineered and optimized institutional campus built entirely out of
unfired eart from foundation to roof to a precision of 1mm.

More than 200,000 earth blocks of nine different dimensions went manually present for the walls,
piers and vaults.

Cured under the hot sun , these incorporate 5 percent cement to stabilize the mix.

The building is oriented to capture the prevailing breezes ventilated cavity walls, radiant under
floor cooling, roof gardens,offices through small courtyards were implemented.
