What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is a computer system resource that is on

demand in order to store data, sharing data, and computing
power. There is no need to direct active management to the user
for this. The term is commonly used to describe data centers
available to many users on the Internet.
Types of Cloud Computing

❏ Public cloud
❏ Private cloud
❏ Hybrid cloud
Public cloud

Third parties buy and run public clouds; They offer low cost to
each individual customer in a "pay as you go" form. All of these
are controlled by the cloud computing provider and one advantage
is that they can be larger than the firm's cloud company.
Private Cloud

These are made only for a single company or firm. These are two types of
private clouds:

● On-premise private cloud: These are internal clouds hosted with an

enterprise's own data center.
● Externally hosted private cloud: These clouds are hosted by an external
cloud provider where the providers provide complete security.
Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud is a combination of both public and private cloud

and thus increases computer flexibility
Components of Cloud Computing
❏ Storage-as-a-Service: In this component, we can take advantage of storage as we do it on a
remote site. Storage-as-a-Service is the main component and as known as disk space on
demand.
❏ Database-as-a-Service: It functions as a live database and the main purpose of this
component is to reduce the price of DB by using more number of software and hardware.
❏ Information-as-a-service: Data that can come from anywhere is known as information-as-
service. Internet banking, online news and more are included.
❏ Process-as-a-service: combining various sources such as information and services into a
process-as-a-service; This is mainly helpful for mobile networks.
❏ Application-as-a-Service: This is a complete application that is ready to use and is the
ultimate front end for users. Some sample applications are Gmail, Google Calendar and more.
Components of Cloud Computing
❏ Platform-as-a-Service: In this component, the application is being upgraded and a database is being
upgraded.
❏ Integration-as-a-Service: It deals with the components of an application that are built and need to be
integrated with other applications.
❏ Security-as-a-Service: This component is required for many customers as security has an initial
priority.
❏ Management-as-a-Service: This component is useful for managing clouds.
❏ Test-as-a-service: This component refers to the testing of applications that are hosted remotely.
❏ Infrastructure-as-a-service: This component takes all virtual hardware, software and servers,
networks. It also prevents many servers from running.
All these play an important role in the components of cloud computing.
Benefits of Cloud Computing

❏ Reduce Cost
❏ Simple Use
❏ Productivity
❏ Scalability
❏ Access to Automatic Updates
❏ Business Continuity (Backup & Recovery)
❏ Pay Structure
Advantages of Cloud Computing

❏ Cloud computing is low in cost and inexpensive as we get bills by usage.

❏ It is possible to store and maintain large amounts of information or data.
❏ Cloud computing is very flexible.
❏ It provides high security.
❏ Data recovery option is available.
❏ Data can be easily managed.
❏ It has the option of automatic update.
Disadvantages of Cloud Computing

Along with the advantages, it also has some disadvantages and

they are as follows:

❏ One disadvantage of cloud computing is that it is risky.

❏ It requires a continuous Internet connection and
has a migration problem.
Conclusion
❏ Cloud computing become one of the most popular buzzwords in the IT world due to
its innovation model of computing as a utility. It obligation increased flexibility,
scalability and reliability, while encouraging promising operational and support
costs
❏ Despite the potential benefits derived from cloud computing, organizations are slow
to accept this due to security issues and challenges associated with it. Security is one
of the major issues that hinder the development of the cloud. The thinking of
handing over important data to another company is worrying; Such consumers need
to be unwinking to understand the risks of data breaches in this new environment
