1. Introduction
Hazardous Gas
• Toxic waste is poisonous by-products as a result of industries such as manufacturing,
farming, construction, automotive, laboratories and also hospitals which contain
dangerous toxins.
• The emitted hazardous gas from the toxic waste can affect human health if inhaled.
Internet of Things (IoT)
• System that’s works by interconnecting computing devices with any unique identifiers
such as mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people.
• Can transfer data over a set of network without requiring any practical interaction from
human to human or human to computer interaction.
• 1.1 Problem Statement
a) In Malaysia recently, toxic chemical waste was illegally dumped into
Sungai Kim Kim in Pasir Gudang which emits hazardous gas. As caused
inhaling the gas from this toxic chemical waste, many people has been
hospitalized.
b) This problem can be avoided if they were aware on the presence of
the hazardous around them and had early plan to deal with it.
c) Therefore, as the solution for this problem there is a need for a
system that can detect and monitor continuously the air qualities that
have been polluted with the hazardous gasses and warn the public if
there is presence of this hazardous gas in their area.
• 1.2 Objectives
a) To develop sensor detection system.

b) To develop system for connection on IOT platform and build the

hazardous gas detection and monitoring system.

c) To test the hazardous gas detection and monitoring system.

5. Conclusion
• 5.1 Objective achieved in fyp 1

 The first and objective which is to develop sensor detection system was successfully
conducted.
 However, it is still in progress in term of development on exact gas measurement for
accurate reading.
 Second objective which to develop system for connection on IOT platform and build
the hazardous gas detection and monitoring system was successfully design and
partially established.
 However, this system is still in progress to include an effective plan to the user on how
to act based on the danger levels of the gases on the IoT platform.
