Reconnaissance and Demolition
Attack Tank

The term Reconnaissance is checking a out situation

before taking action. A preliminary survey to gain
information like that exploratory military survey of
enemy territory. A mission to obtain information by
visual observation or other detection.
The term demolition is the act of wrecking or
destroying, especially destruction by explosive
Overview
It is a robotics tank which help in defence purpose. We
have develop an interface between the pc and tank by
using RF serial communication. RF transmitter sends
the signal to control tank. Pc is sending the control
commands as we required the direction of tank. The
RF receiver is configure with RF transmitter and
decode the control signal to microcontroller.
Microcontroller receive serial data that move the tank
in correct direction. After that controlling the tank
wirelessly added a wireless camera to the tank to be
able to see where the tank is going. In this way we se
tank on computer screen.

Circuit Working
• Serial Communication:
A Microcontroller (AT89S52) is attached with Xbee RF Receiver that
receive the serial data. The commands are send by pc using GUI.
Different kinds of commands are received from serial communication .
Microcontroller receive 12 different types of commands all are different
with each and send it to logic unit.

• Logic Unit:
A logic unit is make with Xor gate & And gate Ics. It is attached with a
bank of Microcontroller. 8 pins of Microcontroller is connected with 8
input of logic unit. It has 12 output pins that can control the different
functions. Its output is input of another Microcontroller (AT89S52) .

TANK CONTROL
A Microcontroller (AT89S52) is attached with two L298N IC module. One
module is control two 12v dc gear motors. Two module control 4wd metal
tank chassis. This Microcontroller takes input from logic unit and makes
the movement of tank in that way that user is send from pc. User can make
the movement of tank in any direction. Tank can be easily move left, right,
forward and reverse at high speed and low speed.

GUI & KEYBOARD
• Graphic user interface:
GUI is created in Microsoft visual studio 2013 by using C# Language. This
contains two parts one is port setting and last send and second part having
12 control buttons. In port setting we select the that com port in which we
connect the xbee explorer dongle. Then we select the baud rate 9600 and
other serial communication parameters. Last sent box is at the end user can
see last sent instructions. On click down on every button instruction are
sent. 12 control buttons having different instructions. 4 buttons having blue
arrows for high speed movement of tank and near 4 small buttons for low
speed movement. 4 buttons in a row that take any action.
GUI & KEYBOARD
• KEYBOARD
Four keys are use for tank movement as key is press down tank is
moving. These keys are
W = Forward
S = Reverse
D = Right
A = Left

RF Signals
Radio frequency Module Xbee Pro S1 use as transmitter to sending control signal
form pc and Xbee Pro S1 is use at receiver side that decode the signal to
microcontroller.

Wireless Range Extender
• LINKSYS RE4100W N600 DUAL-BAND
WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER:
The RE4100W extends the wireless coverage area of up to 7500
square feet by repeating and redistributing the signal from the router
to eliminate dead zones. it also features crossband technology,
allowing wireless bands to receive information on one band and
transmit on the other to reduce dropped data packets.
