*Math –We will finish our unit on decomposing, adding,
and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Our test will
be on Tuesday, Jan. 14th. Our next unit will be on
equivalent and comparing fractions. The plan is to have a
classwork grade on equivalent fractions on Friday, Jan. 17 th,
a classwork grade on comparing fractions on Wednesday,
Jan. 22nd, and our test will be on Friday, Jan. 24th.
* Reading – We will continue reading Auggie and Me.
We will also continue learning about Point of View. We will
have a grade on Point of View on Thursday, Jan. 23rd.
* Writing/ELA – We will begin learning about Verbs
and different verb tenses. We will also learn about helping
verbs. We will have a classwork grade on Friday, Jan. 24th.
We will continue Unit 3 Vocabulary. Our first quiz will be
on Friday, Jan. 17th. We will begin with a writing prompt
for the 3rd nine weeks.
* Science – We will begin our Force and Motion and
Simple Machines unit. Our test will be January 30th.
• Thank you for getting back the Fire Safety
permission slips and waivers so quickly. If
you have not turned that in, they are due
tomorrow. Please mark at the bottom if your
child is buying a lunch or bringing a lunch.
• I am running a little low on white copy paper.
Hoping we are getting some soon, but if
anyone has any at home, I would greatly
appreciate some for the classroom. The blog
also has an updated wish list. Thank you to
those that have purchased items!
Math: Complete 30 minutes of Khan Academy
assignments. The test will be Tuesday, January
14th. I have left these assignments open until
Tuesday, but will assign equivalent and
comparing as well.
Vocab: Look over vocabulary words for the week.
Students will need to take home their Vocabulary
spirals to study nightly. Words are also posted on
the blog. Our next quiz will be Friday, January
17th.
READ! Students should be reading 10-20 minutes
nightly. **READING PLUS for those students
on it!
Grammar: Students can get on quill.org and
complete assignments.
