CAN

 To can
 He cans
 Can’t able to do
LET’S LOOK AT THIS CAN, NOW.
This is a verb.
It is used to express
 ability,
 capacity,
 willingness,
 readiness,
 skillset,
 possibility,
 to offer help and
 to seek permission etc.
Let’s find out how different, this verb CAN is.
1. It is just CAN,
not “To CAN”!
Unlike the most English verbs,
CAN does
not
have “to” in its basic form.
Well, what’s this basic form?
Alright, let’s glance at a few verbs.
 To listen
 To speak
 To read
 To write
This form of the verb is known as
 the basic form OR
 the raw form OR
 the infinitive form.
One identifies this
form by the TO.
BUT, CAN is just
CAN, not “To CAN”!
2. He canS, She canS, it canS ?
NO ……...!
Let’s discover more!
Suppose, we need to express a boy’s present action of
listening, how do we make it?

1. Take the base form “To listen”.

2. Remove “To” from “To listen”. “listen”
3. Add “s” to “listen”. “listens”
4. Now connect the “boy” i.e. “He“ and “listens”. “He listens”
So, a boy’s present action of listening is “He listens”
Suppose, we need to express a boy’s ability to listen,
then, it is,
He can listen.
Not, “He cans listen”
He cans listen!
Now a question,
is that “Can she?“
or
“Cans she ?”
3. You can’t able to do that!
NO ooooo, you can’t do that!
You should never combine “CAN” and
“to be able to”, that’s a serious offense!
Know why?
Grammatically, it’s so stupid that the English from whom we learnt
English will kill US and themselves!
Well, what is missing is “BE”,
it has to be “You can’t BE able to do”!
But, then, it is superfluous, redundant, UNNECESSARY!
Why?
Can = to be able to
Both are synonymous, they mean the same!
“You can’t be able to do” is like "suppose if", "a curved curve"
and “a square of equal sides” etc.

Well, then, how do we use them?

CAN To be able to
I can listen. I am able to listen
You can speak. You are able to speak.
He can read. He is able to read.
She can write. She is able to write.

We can sing. We are able to sing.

You can dance. You are able to dance.
They can watch. They are able to watch.
Now, let’s take some real-life situations.
You keep on talking, you can’t able to listen aa?

A BIG NO!
NO, NOT AT ALL!
You can’t listen? OR Can’t you listen?
OR
You are not able to listen? OR Are you not able to listen?
So, can you can correctly now?
Thankkkk mmmm,

ah… well, then,

“What about I could not able to?”

Thank you very much.
