ABSTRACT
To find the compaction characteristics we need more time and more
efforts we will perform standard proctor test and plastic limit test on
the soil sample by which will form an equation between compaction
characteristics and plastic limit
By the test we will establish correlation between the compaction
characteristics and plastic limit by regression analysis.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
We will establish the correlation between compaction characteristics as
it takes lots of time and requires maximum man power for calculation.
By the regression analysis we need only value of plastic limit to find
OMC and MDD.
methodeology
• Primary sources:
• We search black cotton soil in different talukas of different areas in
pune.
• We selected 14 talukas of pune city and collected two samples from
each talukas.
• On each soil sample we are going to perform 5 times pastic limit test
and 2 times standard proctar test by which we will get different
points.
• We will plot that points on a graph and find a constant.

LITERATURE REWIEW
1. A correlative study of different geotechnical parameters of local soil
of west Bengal with varying percentage of sand by Siddhartha
Mukherjee, 1 September 2015.
In this paper we know the geotechnical properties of soil , the role
of properties when more fineness soil for the important structures of
civil engineering.
In the study of paper we know max. Dry density(MDD), optimum
moisture content (OMC),plastic limit(PL), cohesion(C) this laboratory
value as per is specifications.
2. Analysis geotechnical investigation of different soil samples using
regression by surya.J.Nair,apr-2018
In this paper we know the determination of geotechnical properties
is expansive, time consuming and needs lots of effort.
For getting CBR value of samples is more expensive and more time
consuming process
We know the relation between civil engineers and soil, without the
interaction of soil any civil structure cannot be designed.
