• Established in year 1990


• A private sector industry association
• Members: Chief Executives of over 100 Travel and
Tourism Companies
• Serves as a global forum for business leaders in the
Travel & Tourism industry
• Aim: To raise awareness of Travel & Tourism as 1 of
the world's largest industries, employing
approximately 235 million people and generating over
9.2 percent of world GDP (Gross Domestic Products).
Some goals of WTTC are:
1. Work with governments to make tourism a strategic
economic development and employment priority.
2. Move toward open and competitive markets.
3. Pursue sustainable development.
4. Eliminate barriers to growth
in the industry (example).

COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT
• Established in year 1961
• Based in Paris, France
• 32 member countries
• Brings together countries committed to democracy
and the market economy to:

Organizations (NTO)
• NTO is to serve national goals and to carry out public
policy in tourism
• Roles, function and structures vary.
 The extent of NTO activities will reflect the role given
by its government
 The extend of government intervention in tourism is
often reflected in the role that an NTO undertakes.
