Flyswatter Game
Procedure
1. The class will be divided into 2 groups. Each
group must form a line on each side of the
room.
2. Each team will be given a flyswatter. They will
select one player at a time from each group.
Flyswatter Game
3. Players from each group will stand in front of
the board facing their classmates. Group of
words are written on the board. As the players
hear a definition or question from the teacher,
they will turn around and the first player to hit
the word with his/her flyswatter wins a point for
their team.
3 Rules to Remember
• no hitting each other
• no blocking each other
• nobody from the audience is
allowed to help
SIMPLE INTEREST
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learner is able
to
• compute interest, maturity value, and
present value in simple interest
environment, and
• solves problems involving simple interest
Simple Interest
• Simple Interest is
charged only in the loan
amount called the
principal.
Simple Interest
• Mathematically expressed as,

Is = Prt
where, Is = simple interest
P = Principal (also known as
the present value)
r = rate of interest
t = time or term in years
Simple Interest Problem
A bank offers 2.5% annual
simple interest rate for a
particular deposit. How much
interest will be earned if 10 000
is deposited in this savings
account for 2 years and 6
months?
Maturity Value
To find the maturity value, simply add
interest to the principal
F = P+ Is
where, F = Maturity value or
future value
Is = simple interest
P = Principal (also known
as the present value)
“Simple Interest Maze”
Each group will be given a
maze that contains simple
interest questions. The
questions are written in the
boxes while the answers in
arrow.
“Simple Interest Maze”
The game mechanic is that
students will use their answer to
guide them at the end of the
maze. The group who will finish
the task early and correctly will
be declared as the winner for
the game.

Assessment
Complete the table below by finding the
unknown.
