Traditional Method

 Teacher determines all of the assignments and


assessment tools without any input from the student.
 Give students assignment, quizzes, tests, projects,
midterms, and finals.
 Then reward the student for completing the work.

Consequences of Traditional Method

 causes a great deal of anxiety, frustration, and drive


students to cheat (Warmbrod, 1974).
 The student scores poorly on an assignment or
assessment there is less motivation for the student to
work towards a final grade.

assessment methods ( tutor- student centered).

Reflects more self-directed learning.

Centre around the gaps in the knowledge of the


student and what it is they need / wish to learn.
A learning contract is
a written agreement
between teachers
and students that
defines what
students will learn,
how they will learn it,
and how learning will
be assessed.
