 It is an interchange of thoughts, opinions or


information through speech, writings or signs.
 The word communication originates from the Latin
word “Communis” means common.
 It is an important aspect of human behaviour and
symbolizes human beings ability to convey opinions,
feelings, information and ideas to others through
words, body language or signs.

 It is a two way process in which there is an exchange


of ideas, opinion, feelings and others through words,
body language or signs.

 The sender, according to his ideas, intention, selects


a message.
 He then encodes the message.
 After encoding the message, he transmits it to the
receiver through a medium- be it oral verbal or non-
verbal.
 As soon as the message reaches the receiver, he
decodes it and gives an internal response to the
perceived message.
 Then he gives feedback.

It may be further classified as Oral or Written
communication.

 English language has multifarious connotations


and uses. A good writer must build up his word
power in such a way that words of all kinds are on
top in memory or as an alternative, the writer has
ready access to sources like thesaurus.
