Disposal?
Can a pringles can be disposed of intact?

Despite the fact the our product is made of paper, tin and HDPE it cannot be
recycled whole. All the parts of the pringles can can be recycled, but they must
be seperated to be recycled. And taking the pringles can apart is not easy, so this
deters most people from recycling pringles cans and most end up in the landfill.

Detrimental Effects
As mentioned earlier our product cannot be recycled, so most people simply
throw away pringles cans. But the problem with that is that it takes a very long
time for pringles cans to decompose. While the paper will disappear within two
to six weeks, it takes 5-10 years for HDPE decompose, and it will take 8o-100
years for the the ALuminium to decompose. Meaning pringles cans have a
longer life expectancy than you do. Pringles production also has a negative effect
on the environment. Tin mining in Indonesia, the world's second largest
exporter of metal, pusses animals out of their natural habitats and is very
dangerous for the miners. The cellulose that makes up the cardboard and paper,
contributes to the 30 million acres of forest that are destroyed annually, and
adds to greenhouse gasses because it prevents carbon dioxide from being
filtered out of the air.
Decomposition Time
Reflection
When this item is trashed it may take it may take up to 100 years to fully
decompose. This time period is not only for Pringles cans but also other
materials that aren't recycled properly. The decomposing of this item leads to
the leaking of unwanted pollutants in our soil and water. The improper disposal
of trash can lead to negative impacts on our environment, such as the death of
animals or enormous garbage patches in the ocean. We need to more properly
dispose of out trash in ways other than throwing it into landfills. Whether that is
creating more recyclable products or more upcycling buy the consumers.
